These are the June Update news:
- 00/6/23
- Changes: I've made some minor changes in the page... The "Manuals"
section is now a sub-section of "Download". Our Message Board now
has its own section, called "Forum". Use it to get help on a game,
comment something you've heard/read, post some news, suggest any
improvements for this page... any RPG related subject you want!
Start posting, RPG fans! :)
- 00/6/18
- Chrono Trigger 64: the best RPG ever made will have a N64 version!
However, neither Squaresoft nor Nintendo are behind it... Ressurrection
Games is programming this game that will be available for download
through the Internet. This means that only people with a back-up
cartridge or Nintendo 64 emulator will be able to play it. This
title will have two game modes... one that is just like the original
game but with improved graphics and another that features a full
3D world. The game will run in 320*240 and 640*480 (for Expansion
Pack users). Ressurrection Games still hasn't informed Squaresoft
of its production, though... They plan to place a legal disclaimer
on the initial screen... but this thing has "Squaresoft takes legal
action against Ressurrection" written all over it :).
- Coding Dreams: this portuguese software-house, currently producing
a RPG called Battle Force, now has a presence on the Web. Check out
www.codingdreams.com
for more details on this project.

- Server: I'm facing some problems with RPG Channel's mirror stored
at Emualliance. I keep getting errors upon connecting to their FTP
which are preventing me from updating the files stored there. I've
been trying to contact their administrators but they still haven't
replied. However, our main server (stored at Emulation Zone) and our
Xoom mirror are still fully operational. Please use only these until
further notice, ok?
- N64: Aaaaaaaaaaah! OH NO! This can't be true! Nintendo has "Pokemonized"
(tm) :) Nintendo 64. Apparently, their engineers had some free time and
created two prototypes of this... thing... we can see in the picture below...
Ack... Like if it wasn't enough having six pratically equal Gameboy versions
of Pokemon and two Nintendo 64 games based on this anime-wannabe... :)
- Forum: eeeeh... guys... I don't know if you have noticed it, but we
have a
Message Board up and running... give it some use! :)
- Squaresoft: Nintendo has gathered a group of former Square employees
to produce RPGs for Gameboy Advance. This new software house, which
has people that worked in Secret of Mana, will be called Browny Brown
(all the good names were taken, I suppose...). Their first game will
be out in the second quarter of 2001.
- 00/6/11
- Forum: I've decided to replace the Forum (Message Board) I had on
my page by a new one. A visitor of this page told me that it was
confusing and not very easy to use. Well, check out the
new Message Board and tell me what you think. If you prefer,
you can access it from the
Help section.
- 00/6/9
- PS One: Sony has released a new version of its 32 bits system.
This new portable PlayStation costs around 140 USD. American
users will be able to buy it in September of this year. The
PS One has about 1/3 of the size of the original PlayStation
and it weights around 0,5 Kg. Later this year, a special 4 inches
monitor will also be released, making this a real portable
system. Around December Sony will also release a special adaptor
that will enable all their consoles to be connected to cell phones.
Their plans for a PlayStation network are starting to be a reality...
- 00/6/5
- Forum: I have been planning to add this (also known as a Message
Board) for a long time, but never did quite found one that looked
cool. Anyway, I've seen Delphi's Forums recommended on a page, so
I decided to use them. The link to go there will be available at
the help section, but you can
click here to go there now (the Forum will open in a pop-up
window). Try it out and e-mail
me with your oppinion.
- Adventurers: I finally found a great RPG related comic! The Adventurers
deals with all the (strange) details that can be found in a RPG. The
art isn't perfect, but the strips are hilarious :). You can find'em
at
www.adventurerscomic.com. Meanwhile, here a a couple of strips
for you to know what can be expected :).
- 00/5/31
- Legend of Mana: american RPG fans are just one week away from
the release date of Square's new PlayStation title. The fourth
Seiken Densetsu should be out for sale on the 6th of June,
costing 39.99 USD.
You know something important that happened recently? Then
send it to me! If it's really important, I'll place it here!
Old Updates of this section are
available in the Archive.
