These are the November Update news:
- 99/11/28
- Chrono Cross: this game has already been released for PlayStation
(Japanese version). Square is also planning to release a PSX version
of Chrono Trigger. It'll be just like the SNES game, but with lots
of anime scenes in the middle. For more on Chrono Cross, read
August's News section, where
I made a special preview on this game (a lot before many games'
magazines ;) ).
- Awards: it's official, this page has won another award. So far,
I have three. Well, I give more importance to the e-mails I receive
from my visitors than to the awards I get... but it's cool anyway :).
Here it is:
- Global Update: this month's global update has been delayed for...
eeeh... well... technical reasons... to be honest... I got myself
a trial version of Jedi Knight and spent tons of time playing it
on MSN's Gaming Zone. I was a bit tired from studying and had to
relax a bit... but don't worry, Tuesday or Wednesday the global
update should be on the web.
- 99/11/20
- Mario RPG: the sequel to SNES' Super Mario RPG has been confirmed.
It'll be a N64 game called Super Mario Adventures and it'll mix
2D and 3D graphics. Fans of the original game will probably buy it
(the rest of the world should ignore it :) ).
- Drew Prism: Squaresoft is developing an action RPG for PlayStation.
The Xenogears' team (which has some of the elements who made Chrono
Trigger) is working on this game, where you'll be able to control
two characters (hmm... only two?). It should be released by the end
of the year.
- Bloody Hell!!!!: Sega is developing games for the Gameboy!!! The
first releases should appear in the Japanese market only, just to
test the consumers' reaction. Now there's something I had never
expected to hear. What next? Sonic 64? :)
- 99/11/16
- New releases: the PC versions of Final Fantasy 8 and Diablo 2 are
now available. There's no doubt that Square's RPG will be a hit,
specially taking in consideration the success that the PSX version
had. As for Diablo 2, multiplayer support will play an important
role on its commercial career. Apart from the increase in the number
of available characters (there are now five to choose from), some
graphical changes and a bigger map, there aren't many differences
regarding the first title.
- 99/11/13
- Art: a visitor of this page is interested in having the Art section
back and he already told me he could provide me with some content.
Nevertheless, before bringing this section back, I'd like to know
if more of you agree with it (and, above all, can contribute with
some RPG related pictures). Send your e-mails!
- 99/11/7
- Climax Landers: this Dreamcast RPG will be released in January
of 2000. Soon you'll be able to pre-order it at our GameShop
(for 44.99 USD). Climax Entertainment is also expected to produce
RPGs for PlayStation 2, so it'll be interesting to see what
they're capable of (remember that these guys are related to
Genesis' LandStalker, just to mention one game).
- 99/11/6
- GameShop: I've been warned by GameCave that they were going to
change their game codes. This will affect my shop, since it is
powered by GameCave. I'll try to minimize this and change to the
new codes as fast as possible. Unfortunately, I may not be able
to do this instantly and the shop may stay some time with the
wrong codes. If this happens to you, there's no problem... simply
use the search feature on the GameShop to find the game. Sorry
for any inconvenients this may cause!
- 99/11/1
- 5000 visitors: on the first day of November we've reached this
amount of visitors. It's one great way to start the month! :)
Next target: 10000!
- 99/10/31
- Diablo 2: 16th November is the confirmed US release date for
the PC version of Diablo 2 (and you can already pre-order it
at our GameShop and receive it before everyone else). In this game you'll
be able to choose from 5 different characters and visit four towns.
Each town is packed with caverns, dungeons and crypts. As in the previous
game, it'll include multiplayer support through Battle.Net. All the fans
of the previous game should enjoy this title... however, if you
didn't liked the previous game, it won't be this second part
that will attract you to the Diablo world.
- GameShop: More games have been added to this section! Check'em out!
- 99/10/30
- Shining Force 3: rumours about a possible PC version of this
game are bringing back old protest movements. In case you don't
remember, Sega was planning to release this game in 3 separate
CDs, with 3 months of delay between them. These 3 CDs were released
in Japan, but the rest of the world only saw the first one. Saturn
users were ripped off. Sega terminated the production of new games
for its best system and simply forgot the thousands who bought it.
The person responsible for this act was recently fired and maybe
this sudden turn on Sega's marketing policy is true... but there's
still nothing confirmed. Until then, join the protests and
e-mail Sega PC asking for the
conversion of this great game.
- GameShop: I've decided to create an on-line shop on this page,
where you can buy games for several systems (PC, PSX, SAT and N64,
Dreamcast games will be coming soon). I'm also planning to add
other things in the future to this shop: books, music CDs, consoles,
posters and more. This was an important step and it provides a
useful service.
- Art: I've terminated this section since it wasn't getting any
support. I've replaced it with GameShop which I think is more
important. Anyway, if I get enough mails, I may bring Art back.
But be sure to send some participations, or it'll be useless
to re-activate the section.
You know something important that happened recently? Then
send it to me! If it's really important, I'll place it here!
Old Updates of this section are
available in the Archive.
